What's Going On - A Garden Journal


 Some Containers
 



Angel wing begonias in the big pot in the azalea border. This is the common one with pink flowers.



This other variety is in the urn by the door of the shed. I really dig the unusual bright orange blooms on this one.



I like using unusual found objects for containers. These Heliotropes and Phlox 'Intensia Cabernet' are in an old iron kettle.



Dwarf hydrangea, Coleus 'Wine Country', and Ivy 'Glacier' in an old ammo box.

 Sunday Mainantance
 

Monardas in the front border started blooming this week.

To Do:

prune all ligustrums
shape up tuscan blue rosemaries by walk
trim limbs touching roof
re-pot planter by japanese maple with double impatiens
pot squirrel planter
shear back herbs and tradescancias to 6"
trim and edge around borders, walks, and fence
set in new buddleia, monardas and angel trumpets

Monday...call Carol's husband for quote on grading and amending soil in side yard

stress hydrangeas and then water with tea

Had to flood the bog garden today since it has been pretty dry.

Pineapple Sage

All Hydrangeas ecxept the Peegee are FULL blown full of blooms.

New stuff set in:

Buddleia 'Queen's Robe' in the b'fly garden

To do:

Set out Monardas
Set in tomato
Pick evergreens for patio walk
Re-think the lay out of the herb garden

The first bloom on the Stokes Aster.



The St. Johns Wort, Echinaceas, and the Bronze Fennel in the herb garden.



The blooms on the Oak Leaf 'Alice' getting rosier and rosier. They were stark white a few weeks ago. Cool.



The Hydrangea 'Tokyo Rose' is putting on a show right now.



The first blooms on the Buddleia 'Potter's Purple' this week.
