What's Going On - A Garden Journal


 Week of May 7th
 

Set out annuals to fill in the butterfly garden...pentas, heliotrope, and annual lantana
Planted the kitchen box with Rocky Mountain Red Geraniums, helichrysum, and sweet potato vine
Filled herb garden containers with heliotrope, campanula, and geraniums
Filled succulent pots with margarittes and purslane
Set double impatiens and dragon wing begonias in pots in front of Japanese Maple

Blooming now....
Kim's Knee Highs in b/fly garden
Fairy Roses
Stella d'Oro Daylillies
Sedums by front walk
Sages in perennial border front
Ligustrums
Galardia
heliotropes
Pink Grapefruit azaleas
One of the Endless Summer hydrangeas

Clean up herb garden
Hire landscaper to grade and condition side yard
Plant echinacea still in pots from last year...you lazy m/f
Set out perennial begonia and fuschias from pots
Weed the hydrangea garden...I mean really..look at that shit
Set in Pitcher Plant
Clean up storage area
Set in Brugmansias
Plant containers in herb garden
Weed bog garden and purchase Louisiana Irises
Fill in area in front of Stellas
Plant kitchen window box
Plant Azalea border urn

Variegated Weigelia by patio..started last week..full out now,
Lady Banks Rose out front...same,
Baptisia in pot in b'fly garden...bloomed this week,
Japanese Snowball next to kitchen...blooming for 3 weeks...turned from green to white last week
Banana Shrub's been blooming for 2 1/2 weeks
White Irises in front bloomed two weeks ago...gone now
Dogwood bloomed 3 weeks ago...gone now
Evergreen Clematis bloomed starting 4 weeks ago...big show was 1 1/2 weeks ago...gone now
Doublefile Viburnum in bog garden started blooming last week...full out now
Creeping phlox out front started blooming like 4 weeks ago..big show was two weeks ago
Davidii Viburnums by steps started blooming 2 weeks ago...about done now
Laurels in the evergreen garden started blooming two weeks ago..full out now
Prague Viburnum out front started blooming 1 1/2 weeks ago...still setting buds and making an effort at least
"Holly" viburnums by patio sorta blooming for a couple of weeks
May Night sage in box has been blooming for about 1 1/2 weeks...full out now
Tradescancia in bog garden bllomed two weeks ago...lasted about a week..but setting more buds

 For Me...
 

...because I keep loosing that little gay-ass garden journal. Just a place to note "what is blooming when" so I can patch in some different bloom times next year, botanical names for the stuff in the gardens, ideas, goals, and shit like that.
